John Ferguson BSc (Hons), PG DIP TP, MRTPI

John has 10 years of experience in private practice and has a successful track record of delivering major planning permissions for complex sites.

John is constantly finding angles to push planning boundaries and is currently working on a number of innovative projects across the live, work and play sectors, including co-living, modular housing and pop-up food and drink markets.

John successfully secured the first communal warehouse living planning policy in London, which allows a new form of communal and creative live/work spaces in former warehouses. He is passionate about high quality design, creativity and the role of the built environment in promoting wellbeing.

John identified a gap in the market for a planning consultancy that is distinctive in pursuing creativity and excellence, whilst offering a personal touch. This led him to found Collective Planning in 2016. The independent consultancy is characterised by its values of innovation, excellence, relationship and integrity.

Outside of work John loves the outdoors and enjoys cycling, skiing and cold-water swimming.
